Alicia and Thad Smotherman are longtime supporters of the USC Alumni Club of Dallas. They have kindly hosted our annual SCend Off for admitted USC students for nearly 20 years.
The Arrington Scholarship is dedicated to the late Bob Arrington. Bob served as Alumni Club President from 2003-2004. This scholarship is provided to honor his legacy and commitment to USC.
The Club Scholarship is given on behalf of the current USC Alumni Club of Dallas Board members. Board members plan alumni fundraising events and activities throughout football season and the rest of the year to continually provide this Scholarship to deserving students.
The application process is done by the University itself from the General Alumni Association website in late October to the end of January. There are no local or separate applications taken by our USC Alumni DFW Club. A student must have already been enrolled at USC for at least one semester before he/she is allowed to apply for any scholarship the GAA gives out.
Winners of scholarship awards are notified in June or July, after the University Financial Aid Department verifies their eligibility according to Federal financial aid rules for award amounts. All applicants receive an email of status after the GAA has notified the club we are allowed to notify our winners.
Who is eligible: Must be a full time (12 credit hours or more) undergraduate student at USC with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and at least one semester completed on campus.
Deadline: Feb. 1, 2018
Each student must reapply every year. Click HERE for Application Link
